The tower i need line of sight with for my legacy 900mhz wireless internet has become obstructed by trees that i am not permitted to cut down. However, I can see the tower clearly from another vantage point that lies between my home and the tower but it is not in a strait line between the two and no power is available at the new vantage point. Is there anything i can mount at the vantage point to reflect the wireless signal “around” the obstacles(trees)? I cant put up a tower near my lot because of power lines and poles being so near. The tower is located .7 tenths of a mile from my location. The new vantage point is located approx. 300 feet away from my location. I was told i might be able to try a reflector with a flat plate but the angle really isn’t favorable. He said i might be better off getting two dish or yagi antennas and hooking them back to back with a LMR400 pigtail by pointing one at my location and the other at the tower. If i keep the pig tail short, and get a couple of 18 dBi or better dish antennas … it should work. What is your take on this and if you think it would work, could i use a couple ild digital tv dishes the providers left on my roof when i cancelled my sat tv service?

Hi Mohit. Thank you for your question.
The walls of your house are causing a decrease of the WiFi signal. There are several ways to solve this problem. There are quite a few articles in my Blog about this problem. You can see the list of them on WiFi range.

In short, this is the list of ways to boost the range and improve the coverage of WiFi network:

      • Increasing the power of the wireless router.
      • Using the WiFi signal booster.
      • Finding a better place for the WiFi router.
      • Using of secondary access point.
      • Using the newer generation of WiFi.
      • Using of Wireless repeater.
      • Using of WiFi antenna.

    Mine is a question.
I am doing a final year project and my topic goes like this:
‘build a resonant circular loop antenna operating at 10MHz frequency to be connected to a balanced twin-lead 300 ohm transmission line.”
Any suggestions on materials to use. Any information will be veery helpful. I’m clueless on where to start
